Day 4

I have got to be honest, keeping a travel blog is actually extremely hard for me. Since I am in such a nice enviorment that offers many things to do, I tend to procrastinate (as usual). Anyway headtitle for this would most likley be: Beach (as usual) and World Cup Costa Rica.

The World Cup here is very intense, people go all out unlike 80% of Americans (including myself) who don't particularly keep up and understand soccer aka football. After we went to the beach for the 100th time we went looking for a place to go for lunch.

Now during the World Cup (when Costa Rica is playing) everything is closed. Every store, every place (except for the beach) is closed. We ended up finding a bar where people went to watch the game (Costa Rica and the netherlands). Now before this I never realized how crazy people can get over soccer. People got loud and a little crazy which is all good in the hood. It was just interesting to watch how people strongly loved this sport. If you were wondering, we wern't the weird americans who didn't enjoy watching it. My parents were getting a little crazy (you were mom... and dad). Me and my brother were more focused on other things but all in all it twas a good game. Even though Costa Rica did lose, everyone kept their spirits high which was great.

Just a little story about the beach today..... I was just chilling in the ocean with all the crazy currents when my brother decided to sit in a rocky area, where I decidede to sit aswell because I tend to follow my brother (not the best idea). Since the waves were crazy I bascially got pounded by a bunch of rocks and now I have many, many welts on my legs and elbows. Whereas my brother got  one little stratch on his elbow...I have the best of luck

Day 3

Today we decided to leave the house at about 2pm. Today was what I would consider our "chill" day. After we finally left the house we went to a water hole where many of the locals were. There was a giant rope swing that my brother jumped off a couple of times, I was too scared to do it by the way. There is a giant water fall where some people would climb and slide down the rocks which I would imagine would hurt but I guess it is worth it for them... Some people got even crazier and climbed to the top of a giant tree and jumped down. I decided to be totally lame and just swim around akwardly whilst I waited for my brother. 

After we left the waterfall me, my dad, and my brother fwent to the beach to have a picnic type lunch. The waves were crazy, so we had to move too eat. There always seems to be a dog/animal around us at all times. (yes I know extremely random but it is something that I noticed). At the beach it was about to rain and there were sudden dashes of thunder, which I thought was legit. My dad said we had to get out of open area so we decided to leave.

So that was basically all we did today, we kinda just explored and observed and it was chill. I did make some observations about the country though. 

1. Almost all of the people drive manuel cars, and dont drive according to the speed limits

2. People are eco friendsly, so at resteraunts we can't flush the toilet paper

3. You definatley need 4 wheel drive because some of the terrains are cray

Day 2

So today we still have the struggle of waking up at a reasonable time. I woke up at 10 o'clock which is not too bad actually. It is currently raining like crazy so I decide to go in the pool which is the cutest pool I have ever seen.  It is so small but so nice

We did go to the beach again but this time we took a little hike to the island that is on the beach. Sadly, we could not actually go onto the island because it was too dangerous (as the locals had told us). Since my dad is the most fluent at spanish out of all of us he can translate things which is extremely useful. On the beach there are many rocks and crabs/other small animals. So it is important to wear walking shoes. I did go in the ocean but I tripped on a rock and then I stood up and tripped on it again. I felt very graceful and in pain because my leg was bleeding. We travled back to our villa and went in the pool again, even though it was raining like crazy (and still is). So apprentley (according to the owners of the house) monkeys are supposed to come into the patio, and I am still waiting for that because I have never really seen a monkey upclose. Anyway we are probablly going out for dinner now so enjoy some nice pictures and byyye.

Day 1

Today was technically our second day in Costa Rica because we arrived yesterday. Although we were all suffering from some jet lag, we were still able to do some stuff. We officailly left the villa at  3 oclock. The temperature was somewhat humid so the AC is turned all the way up. Eventually is starts raining very hard which is always legit. 

We had a search around the area and realized how green and jungle like it is, which means there are many scary insects and animals. i have already found so many scary spiders in the bathroom but it is all worth it when you look outside... i promise. We are near a beach and the water is really warm so it is not that good to cool off...so my mom loves it.

Today we basically went to a store because there is not a really a supermarket to buy food. you have to buy bottled water here instead of using a tap because it is not clean to drink so we decide to buy it in the largest amount possible. Now the main language here is spanish, which myself and my mom don't speak. My brother is learning it and my dad is also learning but he is basically fluent in my opinion.i would say you need to somewhat know spanish because it can be very useful. 

so far the only problem i have here is the Television. They only have about 2 fully english channels which was suprising to me because there are many tourists around.  There are many awesome things about this place but one of my favorite would be how beautiful it is, and how much water we are able to use. Where we live, we are having a drout so it is nice to take a longer shower than usual and not feel guilty. so today we just chilled and went out for dinner where cats and dogs were all over. They were actually really cute and could not help myself from petting them. Well i have to go now, so see ya tommorow!
